Our story

We didn't set out to build an organization. We set out to answer a shortage.

CGALU began the way most good roads do — with someone willing to walk the first mile toward leaders who had nowhere else to turn for training.

Identity

Who we are

Common Ground African Leadership Uganda (CGALU) is a legally registered, indigenous, non-denominational evangelical Christian education organization. We partner with local churches, para-churches, and church leaders in tackling the moral, cultural, and physical challenges their communities face.

We are led entirely by a Ugandan board and country team — people who grew up on these roads, in these churches, and understand exactly what's missing.

Vision

Where we're headed

Biblically sound servant leaders, transformed churches, and transformed communities — a Uganda where people live peacefully, holistically healed, and equipped to use their God-given potential.

Mission

How we get there

Equipping church leaders to be effective in holistic transformation through sound biblical principles and sustainable development — delivered affordably, practically, and without exams as a barrier.

Core values

What we won't compromise on the road

Sound Biblical Teaching

Every course traces back to Scripture taught with rigor and humility.

Integrity

Our track record with local authorities and partners has no defects.

Relationships

We build trust with churches for the long road, not a single visit.

Servant Leadership

We choose to serve rather than to be served — in training and in practice.

Transparency

Clear channels of communication, at every level of the organization.

Excellence

Affordable training doesn't mean lesser training. We hold a high bar.
